Andrew J. Wassef is a diligent and interested orthopedic surgeon practicing in the community of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Dr. Wassef is a native of the area he serves and was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. Dr. Wassef attended Howard University, where he received his medical degree, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Toledo. He completed his fellowship specializing in Total Joint Replacements at the Joint Replacement Institute, St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles. He stayed on staff there and actively participates in teaching the fellows.
Dr. Wassef received Vital’s 2014 Patients’ Choice Award and was recognized as Resident Teacher of the Year during his residency at the University of Toledo. He holds professional memberships in the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Wassef is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient’s situation and adapts his consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate individual needs and concerns. He has a special interest in the treatment of failed total joints and frequently performs complex revision surgery.
