Hickory Flat Dance Academy, Inc. is a place for children to come and be introduced to the fine arts in an environment of love and encouragement. We have a curriculum specifically designed to allow students to learn classical dance technique in a fun and imaginative format. Many hands-on manipulatives such as a magic wands, bean bags, tutus, and rhythm sticks are used to hold the attention of our younger dancers. Our curriculum also incorporates special musical stories that teach dance terms and technique as the child participates.

Here at HFDA, we also cater to older dancers by offering a full range classical dance curriculum that includes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Pointe. Each student is given special time and attention no matter what their level of training may be.

At Hickory Flat Dance, we offer an exceptional Company Dance Program that caters to girls who desire to delve even deeper into the fine art of dance. Company Dancers are divided into groups based on age and skill level, and they are required to attend class three times a week for up to 7 hours of dance per week. They enjoy the opportunity of studying classical ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, leaps & turns, and tap as well as performance opportunities throughout the year. Our Company Dance Program combines professional, technical training with an outlet to build character, discipline, and strong, lasting friendships with fellow classmates.
