The Department of Labor has raised the full-time salaried employee overtime threshold from $23,660 to $47,476 a year. Employees paid under $47,476 will no longer be exempt from overtime and must start tracking their daily time starting Dec 1st. The title or job duties of the employee is no longer an issue or grey area. The Department of Labor estimates the number of time and a half eligible full-time salaried employees (those working more than 40 hours a week) will increase from 7 to 35 percent after the the change takes effect on December 1.
