House of Hay was started in 2013. Our founders recognized the need for a new approach to buy and sell hay. As farmers ourselves we acknowledged and understood the tight margins for profit faced by most hay farmers, dairymen and ranchers. In order to grow this profit margin for everyone we developed a unique and proprietary system to raise the entire industry standard for excellence. We are not here only for the hay sellers and we are not here for only the hay buyers. We are here as a service for everyone.
Our founders have a genuine interest in what we do. As we say, we are “Raising the Standard!” We have diverse experience in agriculture, business and economics which allows us to better serve our customers by keeping large market trends and cycles near the forefront of what we do. We focus on an overall, grand picture and then work down to the details of the hay industry, which includes both hay buyers and hay sellers. This portion of our method is unique and vital. Most brokers use a reverse method. They spend all their time on the nitty gritty details and completely forget about long term industry trends and market outlook.
