Our Vectorborne Diseases Unit was out collecting tick samples in Pine County earlier this month! By dragging light colored cloth through the undergrowth, we're able to collect the ticks that grab onto the fabric and bring them back our lab to test for disease. We sample at the same locations every year so we can learn how tick populations and the number of ticks infected with pathogens change over time.
