A Touchstone Energy cooperative, North Carolina's Blue Ridge Electric is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative serving some 76,000 consumer accounts in the northwest North Carolina counties of Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes, Alexander and Avery counties.
As a cooperative, Blue Ridge Electric exists to provide members with exceptional member care and the best electric reliability at the lowest possible cost. With headquarters in Lenoir, the Cooperative serves members from district offices in Lenoir, Boone, West Jefferson, and Sparta. Governed by a 12-member board of directors elected by their fellow members, members also participate in their Cooperative through four district Member Advisory Committees and Community Leaders Councils.
The Cooperative's wholly-owned subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, provides propane and heating fuels to northwest North Carolina and features gas logs, fireplaces and more from showrooms in each of the Cooperative's district offices.
