Maddox Drugs has been serving the Toccoa community since 1957. From the start, we have been able to compound any of your individual pharmacy needs. Beginning our service in Dowtown Toccoa and then moving to Big A Road, we have continued to provide old time service with modern pharmacy technology.
The original proprietor was Natt Maddox. He ran the business for 33 years until he retired and turned the business over to the current owner Steve Spruill.
Maddox Drugs is different from other pharmacies around. We do drug compounding. Many drugs are no longer available in certain forms or strengths. It takes hundreds of millions of dollars to bring drugs to the public marketplace. Because of that, doctors, dentists and even veterinarians will contact Maddox Drugs to mix commercially unavailable prescriptions.
One of the areas that we specialize in is hormone therapy. Because hormone treatment is so specific to individuals, we often have to be tailor dosages to each individual patient.
More than just mixing prescriptions, Maddox Drugs can actually change the form of some medications . It is not uncommon to turn pills into gels or liquids and even lollipops. These services can make it much easier to give medications to children and animals.
