This is what many streets, neighborhoods and companies look like in Houston and surrounding cities as people are trying to get their homes and businesses back. The work has just begun and will be a long lasting effort for Texas. TIP: If possible when removing sheetrock/drywall find the tape line above the affected height and remove all drywall from that point down. This will make removal much easier than cutting at random heights and in return make installation run a little smoother and more uniform. TYPICAL INSTALLATION: Sheetrock typically comes in 4' x 8' sheets and is installed horizontally. 8' Ceilings: Two 4' sheets on top of each other. Tape line will be at 4' from bottom of drywall. 9' ceilings: 3 sections. From top to bottom there will usually be a 3' sheet followed by a full 4' sheet and finished with a 2' sheet at the bottom. Tape lines will be at 2' and 6' from the bottom of drywall. 10' ceilings: 3 sections. There will be two full 4' sheets followed by a 2' sheet at the bottom. Tape lines will be at 2' and 6' from bottom of drywall. Puncture drywall below suspected tape line and start removing drywall by pulling up towards the seem which will expose the tape line. You can then pull the tape and remove all drywall below that seem. **note** drywall can be installed many different ways and the above might not be how yours is laid out. This is just how most drywall is typically installed. Aztec Rental is here to help and have plenty of equipment to assist in residential and commercial renovations.
