MISSING PETS- When posting a missing pet please include a photo of your pet, the date the pet went missing, street and nearest cross street missing from to include neighborhood, town or city etc., whether they are male or female, if they are wearing a collar, tags, and if they are micro chipped. Also, make sure you contact the shelter to file a “lost pet” report. It is also important to physically go to the shelter to look for your missing pet. The shelter is full of animals and with limited staffing; it isn’t always easy for them to go look for your pet for you. Many animals look a lot alike, especially cats and only you know which one is yours. It is important to check often

FOUND PETS- If you’ve found an animal, please take it to a vet or the Humane Society to have it scanned for a micro chip and make a “Found Pet” report at your local shelter. When posting a found pet include date found, location, a photo and contact info. If you cannot keep the found pet at your home, take it to the shelter so the family of that pet can have a chance to find it. Please do not keep it for yourself, give it away, rehome it, sell it or leave it to fend for itself. In the state of Kentucky, pets are considered property but to those of us that love our pets, they are family. It is important to do all that you can to locate the family of a found pet. Someone somewhere may be frantically looking for that pet and you may be their only hope for a reunion
