THIS IS IT! The end of an era, that is. Join us at Beachead Comic today to say goodbye on our last day (and take advantage of our 50% off sale). We're open from 12-5 today, so get in while you can!

Hello Again World! In Addition to the Beachead 30th Anniversary Bash on Sunday, there will be a memorial party for Jeff on Saturday, Aug. 1 from Noon to 5pm. This will be at the Fellowship Hall of Zion's Church, 620 West Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA. Parking downtown is a mess, but there are plenty of parking garages and lots in the area (except for the lot next to the church, which we are not allowed to use because it's not owned by the church). There will be food and beverage, and pictures, and the chance to tell stories about Jeff. The best way to get into the building is through the entrance to the Liberty Bell Museum (double red doors, down a short flight of steps, and the tour guide, who is also a friend of Jeff's, will show you where to go.) Hope to see you on Saturday (and Sunday too!)

Attencion, Muchachos Y Muchachettes! (And Everybody Else!) THE BEACHEAD COMICS 30TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY IS ON!!! Beachead Comics opened its doors on July 25, 1986, at 1601 Chew Street in Allentown, PA. Jeff worked so hard to make it to 30 years, and he wanted to celebrate that achievement surrounded by friends, family, and comics lovers. I figure the least we can do for him is make it happen. The party will be at Beachead Comics on Sunday, August 2 from Noon to 5 pm. There will be the usual suspects: excellent food, beverages, giveaways, and appearances by comics pros and gifted amateurs (both in the store and on the phone -- I hope). Speaking of which... HI THERE, COMICS/SCI-FI/FANTASY PROS AND GIFTED AMATEURS! If you can make an appearance at the party, please let me know via email (steffab@aol.com) ASAP. If you can't make in person, please let me know if you can give us 10-15 minutes of your time on the phone. If you can make it person, let me know via email if you would like a place set up for you to sit, or if you just want to come and mingle. Please call the store at 610-HEROES-2 (610-437-6372) to let us know you'll be there. Or, you could reply right here. And please SPREAD THE WORD! Thank you all so much, Steffa

Hello again, World, it's Steffa. My friend Chris has offered me the use of his house in Allentown on Saturday, July 11 from 7 pm till whenever. The "official" memorial is going to be on Saturday, August 1. This is the unofficial one. Everyone who lives in the Lehigh Valley area (or further if you really want to come) is welcome. This is very informal - bring snacky things to share if you wish, and wine would not be unwelcome. (Although if you smoke, you will have to do so outside.) If you have pictures of Jeff, bring 'em. If you have stories about Jeff, bring 'em. If you would like the address and/or directions, please e-mail me at steffab@aol.com. And thank you all for your thoughts.

Hello World, This is Steffa, Jeff's wife. For everyone who has not heard yet, I'm very sorry that you're finding out like this. Jeff had a fatal heart attack on Thursday night. Medical professionals told me that it was instantaneous and he didn't suffer. The obituary will be in the paper tomorrow (Monday). It will say to contact me about services. At this point, I'm pretty sure there are going to be several events. I am going to organize something for his friends in the immediate area in the next week, and something bigger in a few weeks to include the family members who need to make travel arrangements. I still would like the 30th Anniversary party to happen, and if there is any way possible, it will. I will post updates here, and I guess it's time to get my own damn Facebook page. Please feel free to contact me through this page.
