WaterMark understands that in order to preserve the fabric of our built environment, it begins with good design. Good design is found in every style, size, and period of residential architecture, which creates excitement, interest and character. We attempt to avoid designing "generic" and "mainstream" volume-built boxes for living. The path to achieve good design involves a process of open dialogue, exploration, research, experimentation, as well as an array of trials and ‘what if’’ scenario's.

A successful design comes from an integration of all elements, which individually contribute to the character of the project. Examples include sighting the home correctly, functionality of plan layouts based on programmatic surveys, proper proportion of space and volume, the quality of light and movement, the composition of form, material and technologies, the comfort provided by various systems, and the juxtaposition of indoor and outdoor spaces… just to name a few.

Where feasible, WaterMark strives to include as many sustainable principles and products as possible, attempting to preserve our natural resources, manage energy efficiency, and incorporating other eco-friendly objectives.
