A year ago we took over ownership of Acme Deli with the goal of keeping a beloved neighborhood lunch institution going. We weren’t restauranteurs, but trying our hand at working to redirect a business back in line with the founder’s ideals seemed like a worthwhile adventure and a great way to further engage in our local community. With a year’s experience under our belts, it’s become clear to us that while we now own a restaurant, we are unfortunately not restauranteurs at heart. A lot has changed in the local business climate since the early days and there are some unique challenges now facing a lunch-only spot like Acme Deli. We have really enjoyed getting to know the amazing (and extremely loyal) customers and wonderful staff at the deli. But it is time to follow our paths in a different direction. With Acme Deli’s 23 year history in mind, we have reached out to try to find someone whose passion is to run a neighborhood sandwich spot. We have not had any luck finding someone to take over where we’ve left off. So, it is with sadness that we now announce that we will be closing. Saturday, February 20th will be the last day of business. If you have time, stop-in because we'd love to see you all and thank you for your business and support over the last year. – Shannon and Chad Skally
