Buck Pond is a 300 acre thoroughbred horse farm located in the Bluegrass region of central kentucky. Founded in 1783 by Colonel Thomas Marshall, father of Supreme Court Justice John Marshall, Buck Pond was part of the first land grant in the state of Kentucky and has been used as a home to thoroughbreds for well over a century. Buck Pond has been the home of several ledgendary racehorses such as Kentucky Derby winner Alan-a-dale, Horse of the Year and Kentucky Derby winner Spectacular Bid, Travers Stakes winner Annihilate'em, and two year-old champion Lord Avie.
