Doms Outdoor Outfitters was established in 1970 under the name Dom's Surplus. Dom's Surplus, Inc. soon became a regional institution because of the simple but often forgotten fundamentals of business, price, selection of products, and excellent customer service, Dom's has even been marked as the "Nordstrom of Livermore" for excellence in customer service, by a local newspaper. As markets evolved the name was changed from Dom's Surplus to Dom's Outdoor Outfitters. Dom's added a mail order catalog in 1995 and soon after an e-commerce web site to continue evolving with the ever changing retail market.
