Founded by Don Emerson in May of 1985 in Portland, Oregon, FMI Truck Sales & Service began as repair and maintenance facility for truck fleets with two diesel mechanics and one parts counterman. FMI now operates two shifts, from three dealership locations with twenty-six technicians and nine parts specialists. In 1989, FMI became a full-service Hino Diesel Truck dealership and the Isuzu franchise was added in early 1992.
FMI is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and satisfaction. We are focused on treating everyone – customers, employees, partners and vendors - with honesty and respect. We believe that customer service begins with the understanding that it is simply “people doing business with people.”
FMI sells trucks and parts nationwide and serves the repair and service needs of companies in Oregon and SW Washington. While FMI’s core business remains Hino and Isuzu truck sales, Japanese truck service and repair and the sale of new and used Isuzu, Hino and UD parts, we have diversified into body fabrication and installation, rental trucks, and specialty components to meet our customers varied needs and requirements.
