For more than four decades, Dr. Schatz has remained on the leading edge of technology in the field of eye care. Over the years, he has been actively involved in professional activities, has served as an FDA Clinical Investigator for several contact lens manufacturers, and has acted in a consulting capacity aiding designers of computer software programs for the eye care industry. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor on the adjunct clinical faculty of the Southern California College of Optometry, and serves on the adjunct clinical faculty of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry mentoring optometric interns in the process of completing their professional education. Dr. Schatz has also published works, spoken publicly on eye care, and has been featured in the media on the subject of eye care and Orthokeratology. Dr. Schatz received his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1977 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He is currently licensed in five states and the District of Columbia, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Schatz started his private practice in 1979, and has since grown it into one of the largest contact lens practices in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Dr. Schatz is well known for his friendly, professional demeanor, his sense of humor, his expertise in eye care, and his extensive experience in the contact lens industry.
