The Ferman family has been in the optical business since 1931. Cyral Ferman started a wholesale optical lab in 1931. William "Dr. Bill" Ferman started practicing optometry in 1951, retiring in 1997. For a time, Dr. Bill's entire family was working at the practice. In 1969, when he was only 13, his son Ted joined the team as an apprentice in the optical lab, and soon became a highly skilled optician. They were joined by Ted's brother, Dr. Greg in 1977. And for several years, Bill's wife Lee managed the front desk, and his daughter Sue managed the books.
Dr. Andrew Ealovega – “Dr. Andy” joined the team when Bill retired in 1997. For 20 years, Dr. Greg and Dr. Andy worked together, providing the high quality standard of care that our patients have come to expect. Dr. Greg retired in 2016, and Ted carries on the family name, having established himself as one of the most talented and experienced opticians in Michigan. Since day one, the Ferman philosophy has been to provide the best professional care with a friendly, personal approach. In this day and age of bargain-priced retail optical chains, we remain devoted to our core principles. At Ferman Optometry, our doctor handles all aspects of your exam - no pre-testing technician here. And our opticians are board certified to select, fit, adjust and even make your prescription glasses - no fast-talking, high-pressure sales rep here.
