(2/4) B R O K E B A B E S | @kkmcginnis ใƒปใƒปใƒป @brokemansrunning I never thought I was capable of being a runner. #nevertheless, in 2015 I started running and fell for the thrill of pushing through those limits! I #persisted and started training for my first half marathon. #nevertheless, I never ran that race. All of that training prepared me for the biggest race ever, a run for my life. That summer, I got blindsided by ulcerative colitis. It came in like a storm, and in a few weeks had stripped me of my muscle, my weight, my hair, my feminity, my health, my joy and eventually my colon. In October, they took out my diseased and perforated intestine to save my life. I left the hospital a frail and mere 86lbs. Over the next year, I had two more abdominal surgeries, my bowels resected and carried an ostomy bag on my body. The year was nothing short of climbing a mountain...emotional and physical obstacles I have yet to even grasp. #nevertheless, I persisted. I ran through trauma and surgeries. I ran toward life! 12 races in half is yet to come in just a few weeks time. Run with me! Share in my journey! In this photo, I am a few weeks out from j-pouch surgery, and wearing an ostomy bag strapped to my belly. And it's one of the biggest moments of joy I can share with you, #nocolonstillrollin

Give back to our Clintonville community for Earth Day ๐ŸŒฑ Join us at the studio this Saturday, April 22 at 9:30AM to help us show Mother Earth our love. Olentangy Trail clean up + FREE all-levels yoga at Whetstone Park Of Roses led by Liz McGory and Lisa Kemper. No RSVP required and all ages invited. ๐ŸŒฟ For those who can't make the morning service project, travel green to the studio on April 22 to receive one complimentary class for use on Earth Day only.

Weather permitting, please slather on sunscreen before you come. We will provide gloves, trash bags and other necessary clean-up tools. No RSVP required.
