The Sodus Bay Historical Society operates a local history museum in the Sodus Bay Lighthouse, which was built in 1870. Exhibitions include lighthouse tools, Fresnel lenses, maritime artifacts, ship models, railroads and trolleys, and a commemoration of the War of 1812 Battle of Sodus Point. Visitors can climb the lighthouse tower, enjoy beautiful gardens, and shop for unique gifts. The grounds are available for weddings. The museum is open from 10 to 5 , Tuesday through Sunday, from May 1 through October 31.
