The Howard Township Baseball League consists of players ages 4-12, located within Pepper Martin Park, in Niles, Michigan. Pepper Martin Park is located in a beautiful park setting full of trees with three beautiful fields for our players to play on. Player Divisions: Rookies (Ages 4-5), Minors (Ages 6-8), Majors (Ages 9-10) and Majors (11-12).
**Player Ages as of April 30th**
Rookie League: HTBL Rookie League teaches our young baseball players the fundamentals of baseball. They will be batting against a pitching machine, using soft baseballs, while also hitting off of a tee when unsuccessful on the machine. Alligator, pop and pull, and squish the bug are common words used in this league. This is our developmental league leading to our full pitching machine league.
Minor League: HTBL Minor League is a full pitching machine league that teaches the fundamentals of baseball while getting players ready for the Majors. This league is a lot of fun while still having stiff competition.
Major League: HTBL Major League is the REAL DEAL. Baseball like it was meant to play. Our players learn to take the fundamentals and use them on the field in a very competitive league. Players will be pitching, stealing, and playing like MAJOR LEAGUE players. We play 50/70 in this league, which means we are getting players ready for the next league, which pitches farther and bases are longer.
