35mm film has been replaced with digital Barco projectors in this beloved theater. Film has been the heart of this great theater since 1951 and now this rare building has no superior when it comes to picture quality and sound that digital technology inherently delivers.
The Lincoln is one of only four movie theaters of similar architectural design left in Tennessee that still shows movies.
This is the most important change in the 65 year history of the Lincoln Theatre and arguably the biggest change in the movie industry.
