Strayer University Community Guidelines

The Strayer University Facebook Page exists to supplement and enhance the academic experience of Strayer students, applicants, potential applicants and alumni. The Page is open to all, and we welcome the many different thoughts and opinions that come naturally with a large and diverse University community. We also welcome your questions and will do our best to answer them.

However, all fans of the Page are expected to abide by the following “Dos and Don’ts” when participating. If a user persistently does not abide by these guidelines, Strayer University reserves the right to remove their posting privileges.

Do obey Facebook’s official terms of use:

Do post in the same thoughtful, respectful manner with which you would participate in a Strayer University classroom. If the language or tone used in your posts would not be appropriate in class, it is not appropriate on the Facebook page.

Do help out fellow fans. If another student asks a question that you can confidently answer, we encourage you to chime in. This Page exists for students to network and support one another in addition to receiving support from the University.

Don’t post anything that would violate the University’s Computer Use policy or that is not in line with the University’s values. This includes:
- Content that is profane, obscene, defamatory, violent or otherwise in poor taste
- Hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs
- Discussion of illegal or questionable activity
- Spam or self-promotional content, or promotion of a competitor
- Content that relates to confidential or private information, including personal information such as email addresses or phone numbers
- Posting disruptive statements to others that are not helpful and/or take discussions off topic
- Misinformation about the University and its practices
- Content attacking the University, its employees and/or students without any request or desire for help from fellow students and/or the University

Don’t rely wholly on information from the Facebook Page. While posts from Strayer University do represent information provided directly from the University, you should always consult your individual instructors, advisors, and/or home campus leadership for more individualized assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a student or applicant and have a serious issue that has not or cannot be adequately addressed by your home campus, we recommend emailing getanswers@ for the most efficient resolution.
