"91% OF WOMEN DISLIKE THEIR BODIES!" 👇đŸģI wonder why that is?....🤔 Could it be that we're hit with images from the media EVERYWHERE we look? 91% is ALOT. I'd say most women during their lifetime feel some kind of pressure about how she's "suppose to look" to be accepted or feel worthy. (myself included) Drop Pounds Quickly Look Younger by Erasing Wrinkles (Anti-Aging) Look Thinner & Fitter Get Flat Abs & a Tight Butt Eat Clean And on and on and on... They claim if we do these things that we'll have the dream life, job, car, relationship, and social status that we've always wanted! With a cherry on top... And if you think that thin, "normal weight", healthy, models, &/or fit people are exempt from this type of societal pressure...THINK AGAIN! Because a lot of us are worrying that if we aren't as strict with our diet and exercise routine, we may gain weight or not have our "ideal body" any more and lose our social status... Yep, the dieting culture and mentality grabs onto you with a tight hold, and doesn't want to let anyone go! No wonder the health & fitness process isn't enjoyable for most. A lot of this pressure is because we live in a fat phobic and anti-aging society. We think with enough self-criticism we may be able to stay in control and beat the inevitable...which is death (no one's getting out alive BTW)...looking smoking hot the entire time! The fact of life is that our bodies are going to change throughout our lifespan. The more we can accept our bodies and show compassion to ourselves throughout our journey, the more enjoyable eating healthy and exercising can be, and the more energy we'll have to devote to things that really matter throughout our lifespan. The goal is to always be learning, growing, and to treat ourselves better! Increasing our awareness around our self-talk and the media being presented around us, gives us a choice. A choice to start a different conversation. A CONVERSATION OF COMPASSION, ACCEPTANCE, AND SELF-LOVE! YOU up for that type of conversation? If so, join us here ---> http://bit.ly/bodylove2017

We couldn't agree more with the thoughts and stand that Girls Gone Strong and Born Fitness, plus so many more in the fitness community have taken, on this issue surrounding the body shaming of #ladygaga 's #superbowl performance! And, if you don't think that this type of behavior isn't affecting you, I'd ask you to re-consider that because it is affecting us ALL! I mean, when I see people body shaming Lady Gaga, I have to stop and ask myself how that might make people feel and what type of disordered eating or exercise behaviors that it might cause one to take trying to live up to what society deems as the "ideal body"... Health, Fitness, and Beauty, comes in all shapes, sizes, color, and AGES! Here's a few baby steps you can take today to stop #bodyshaming in it's tracks: 1. Notice and be aware of when you're making or thinking a judgement about your body or someone else's. Ask yourself, "Says who?" 2. Don't participate in making negative comments about other people's or your appearance. 3. If someone makes a comment that makes you feel uncomfortable, whether it's about you or someone else, speak up! It's not too late, to join our FREE 10 Day Body Love Challenge starting Feb. 14th. No no no no no no no. This is inexcusable for so many reasons including, but not limited to: 1) Her body is none of anyone's damn business but hers. 2) She KILLED her performance and yet people are speaking negatively about her body. 3) Her body is none of anyone's damn business but hers. 4) While it's never OK to speak negatively about someone's body, by saying things like Lady Gaga has a "flabby belly" and a "gut" society continues to perpetuate unrealistic and unhealthy ideals for women's bodies. 5) Oh, and did we mention her body is none of anyone's damn business? #GirlsGoneStrong #GGS #MyBodyMyBusiness #LadyGaga #StrongWomenLiftEachOtherUp [H/T to Powered By Ice Cream for the pic]
