South Effingham Middle School

Welcome to the official Facebook page for the Effingham County School District. Our school district, based in Springfield, Georgia, currently serves almost 12,000 students making ours the 33rd largest school system in the state of Georgia. As one of the districts in the top 15% of those across our state, our families can be assured that our students are learning in a safe environment from some of the best and most capable teachers in Georgia’s educational system. Effingham County educators are preparing students daily towards the goal of obtaining a high school diploma, and that fact is reflected in our steadily increasing graduation rates over the past 10 years.

Our school district is made of eight elementary, three middle, and two high schools as well as a separate college & career academy:

- Ebenezer Elementary School
- Guyton Elementary School
- Marlow Elementary School
- Rincon Elementary School
- Sandhill Elementary School
- South Effingham Elementary School
- Springfield Elementary School

Three middle schools
- Ebenezer Middle School
- Effingham County Middle School
- South Effingham Middle School

Two high schools:
- Effingham County High School
- South Effingham High School

And a separate career academy:
- Effingham College and Career Academy (ECCA)

Our school district embraces a number of programs that support our effort to provide rigorous and relevant instruction to each of our students. Both Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School provide a number of Advanced Placement classes that offer college level instruction to students as well as an opportunity for them to earn college credit during their high school careers. Students at the Effingham College and Career Academy (ECCA) are successfully completing career pathways and achieving certification towards employment across a number of professions. Programs such as work-based learning and internship opportunities give participating students an edge in our society’s increasingly competitive employment market.

Effective August 2016, the Effingham County School District launched its new STEM Academy at the Effingham College and Career Academy. The goal of the STEM Academy is to provide a unique and rigorous curriculum that focuses on providing students with real world applications in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
