Big Stone Physical Therapy, Inc. was established in July of 1990 by two physical therapists; Paul Treinen and Wade VanDover. The practice originally began by providing inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services to four community hospitals located in Ortonville, Wheaton and Graceville in Minnesota and Sisseton, SD. Since the addition of occupational therapy, speech language pathology, massage therapy and occupational health the name was changed to Big Stone Therapies, Inc. (BST) to incorporate all the services they provide. BST has grown to include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, home health, school based rehabilitation and on-field sports medicine services.
Occupational health services were started in June of 2000 and in the fall of 2005, a sister company, OccuPRO, Inc. was established to provide occupational health services to businesses in area communities.
In 2002 the owners made the decision to venture into the world of private practice therapy services. At that time they brought in Roman Taffe to serve as administrator and to manage the business affairs of their growing practice. He is now a 3rd partner in BST.
Today, BST has grown into a thriving business which serves the therapy needs of 35 communities in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. They currently employ over 330 talented people!
