Fresh Start provides comprehensive medical care for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured, children suffering from physical deformities and other conditions. To accomplish our mission, Fresh Start utilizes the Surgery Weekend Program.
Fresh Start holds six Surgery Weekends annually where volunteer medical professionals provide reconstructive surgeries for children suffering from physical deformities. Throughout the interim between each Surgery Weekend, Fresh Start also hosts dental clinics, laser treatments, speech therapy services, and preventative health education to ensure a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient. Fresh Start treats a wide variety of conditions ranging from congenital defects, such as cleft lip and palate, hemifacial microsomia, and fused fingers and toes, to deformities caused by burns, accidents, or abuse.
