Bird's Haven Farms

Bird's Haven Farms

Bird’s Haven Farms is located just five miles north of Granville on Lafayette Road. Our family farm is now in its 18th season. The farm is family owned by Tom and Ann Bird and operated by youngest son, Lee Bird.

Bird’s Haven Farms is committed to only selling what we grow. Here at Bird’s Haven Farm we believe the customer has the right to know where and how their produce is grown. We believe you cannot ensure quality and control unless you know exactly how the produce was raised from seed. Our farm, while not certified organic, practices sustainable agriculture growing on plastic to negate the need for herbicides and use manure as fertilizer. We do not spray any of our produce unless facing a crop loss and we are always willing to honestly answer any question about how your produce has been raised.

Our parents long held dream came true and they paid off the farm! 22 years and now, with your support, farm and protect the land for generations to come! Thanks for taking a chance on two 50+ year olds with no farming experience First Federal Savings. Local banks are important for small business owners like us!
A huge congratulations to the Bird Family from Bird's Haven Farms for paying off their farm yesterday! The next generation of Birds now have a farm that they own free and clear and will continue to take exceptional care of for years to come. Well done!! #lickingcounty #buylocal #eatlocal

Sign ups start today! As every year we grow, learn and make it better. This year we are offering a “Community Share” to those who wish to participate but maybe can’t because of financial limitations. To learn how you might qualify head over to our website and let those you know who may be able to take advantage of this program. We will be holding a fundraiser later in the season, ask members to donate a few extra dollars to help and the farm will match all donations.

Our FAVORITE time of the year! Today is the start of our 2018 Bird's Haven Farm's CSA Sign-up! Our theme this year is... "no gimmicks!!" Like any industry, “third-party” CSA’s have begun to pop-up and folks trying to profit off the CSA model and mislead customers. BIrd’s Haven still offers a true CSA model, where you invest directly in to our family’s farm and in return only eat what we grow and get to be a part of our farm family. You get to know our parents, our farm dogs, our farm kids. The producers we partner with get 100% of the money. We do not partner with them to make a profit, but to ensure we get more people eating as much local as possible. (Please share this, with Facebook's new algorithm businesses will filter out and we hope to spread the good news!)

Friends. The community has come together to fill the gap on Christmas Eve and have hot meals available for ANYONE who needs one. Message and delivery folks can also help get food to you.
Friends and members, please help us spread the word! If you know of families or individuals in need of a hot meal today, several local businesses and families have set up a hot meal station at the Canal Market District in downtown Newark this Christmas Eve. Volunteers will be on hand until 5 PM! Please share widely!
