Consider the Cook was born more than thirty years ago by six young mothers who realized their dream of opening a beautiful shop where each could work one day a week. The shop flourished. In 2000, it was purchased by DIna Clason, a former china buyer for Tiffany & Co. and frequent patron of the shop. She relocated the store to historic Bedford Village in New York and expanded to include table top items along with high end kitchen equipment. She continued to expand, opening locations in New Canaan, Connecticut and Vero Beach, Florida. The shop is dedicated to the fine art of entertaining with special consideration for the cook. It's wares include dinnerware and serving pieces from England, Italy and Portugal as well as elegant serving utensils, glassware, linens and accessories that evoke the virtues of an aesthetically pleasing dining table and the correct tools to prepare the meal. There are also home accents such as lamps, sconces, mirrors, clocks, tables. There is always a wonderful selection of ornaments at Christmas.
