Growing up in Manhattan, KS, my father was a hobbyist photographer and I was his little assistant in the darkroom. I was fascinated with it all from an early age.
After having gone into the corporate world to work as a young adult, I soon realized I needed to follow my heart and get back to photography. A honeymoon in Africa sealed the deal. Once back home with my my shiny new camera that I had purchased for the trip, I took the leap of faith and started my own business. I knew if I could make it work, I would be a "happy chick"! That was in 2004 . . . I've been a Happy Chick ever since!
