Dr. Jonathan Jahnke's father, Paul Jahnke, MD (1933-2006) started his ophthalmology practice in McMinnville in 1969 so there has been a "Dr. Jahnke" providing eye care in Yamhill County for over 40 years. Valley Eye and Laser Center continues this proud tradition.
After graduating from McMinnville High School and Linfield College. Dr. Jahnke attended Medical School at the University of Iowa, then interned at Emanuel Hospital in Portland followed by residency training in Ophthalmology at Bethesda Eye Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing his training and education Dr. Jonathan Jahnke, MD, returned to Yamhill County, bringing new skills and services in 1987. Valley Eye and Laser Center has had many "firsts" in Yamhill County - the first Nd-YAG and Argon Laser offering office treatments for cataract, diabetes, and glaucoma patients. The only office to offer Radial Keratomy in the early 90's and the first and only office to offer in office LASIK surgery with our own state of the art Excimer Laser. We are also the first to offer multifocal implant lenses for our cataract surgery patients.
