Swan's Landing Catering Service

5
I was born and raised in Columbia, Kentucky. My parents owned
and operated one of the first motels and restaurants in this area;
therefore, I grew up as a child learning the value of hard work, honesty,
dedication, and customer satisfaction.
I attended Lindsey Wilson College, Campbellsville University,
and Western Kentucky University. I taught English and coached dance
team for Taylor County High School for 30 years. I retired in 2009. For
15 years I served as a part- time writing instructor for Campbellsville
University and Lindsey Wilson College.
I formed my catering business, Swan’s Landing, in 2002. The
name derived from my love for Swans, an animal of beauty and grace.
Even though I cater and decorate for numerous corporate events, parties,
Proms and class reunions, my love is working with brides on their
wedding day.
My Philosophy on life is that I belied that God gives each
of us talents and abilities that we can use and develop to not only serve
Him but to make a difference in the lives of others. It was difficult for
me to retire from teaching simply because I love young people. Now I
continue to be of service to others through my catering career. I receive
great joy and satisfaction as I work with brides in planning their
wedding day. I want the bridal flowers, church décor, and reception
hall to be beautiful, the food delicious, and the service superb .
My success in this business stems from the fact that I have many
talented individuals who work for me who love what they do. My chefs,
Kathy Begley and Patricia Porter, are skilled cooks and they continually
Strive for perfection as they search out new recipes and techniques in food presentation. My floral designer, Theresa Wolford, is one of the
best designers in the country. She is one of four individuals who designs
and plans for major events at the White House and other formal affairs
in Washington, DC. It was a big plus to have her join our team in 2010:
Brides love her work! There are many other great employees who work
tirelessly to make customers happy in the services we provide.
As I work with my customers, I try to meet their requests and
fulfill their dreams as we plan together an event. I will try to work with
any budged. My motto is “Memories last a lifetime, so we need to make
them beautiful.” I strive to do just that. I give thanks to God that I have
had the privilege of working with over 800 brides over the past 12 years.
I owe my success and prosperity to Him and the many talented
individuals whom I have worked with along the way.
