The Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation was incorporated in 1965 by resolution of the City of Bayonne as a private, nonprofit agency. BEOF's philosophy is Community Action through the marshaling of citizens’ participation and public and private funding. Although the agency’s mission is to assist low income citizens, we pride ourselves on trying never to turn anyone away who feel they are in need without a referral to where they can be assisted.
Our agency is governed by a Board Trustees consisting of nine dedicated volunteers whose function is to set policy and see that it is implemented. By mandate of the government, our Board is a three part board. Three are the elected officials or their representatives, three are representatives of agencies within the City of Bayonne, and three are provided from our offices located at 555 Kennedy Blvd.
