Company Profile In 1871, John G. Miller emigrated from Germany to Iowa, where he worked as a carpenter for several years. In 1896 he established his own business, John G. Miller Construction. In the 1950’s, John G. Miller expanded through the creation of subsidiary Black Hawk Construction to better serve clients outside of Black Hawk County. In 1977 another subsidiary, Cardinal Construction was formed.
In the mid 1980’s, all three companies combined to create an employee-owned construction firm, Cardinal Construction, Inc. In 1997, Cardinal Construction acquired Beck Ericson, bringing key leadership to our team.
For over a century, Cardinal Construction has built numerous buildings of all types for both public and private sector clients. We are proud of our past and we value the rich experience it has afforded.
Today, we are a company of more than 75 employees from varied backgrounds and life experiences. At all levels and in all aspects of business we share a common goal of creating the best possible experience for our clients.
