Misson: Honor the Lord Jesus Christ by providing students an education based upon academic excellence with a biblical worldview.

First Baptist Christian Academy is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (TEPSAC/NCPSA approved). FBCA is a member of Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

FBCA, founded in 1993, is a comprehensive school enrolling 430+ students in grades PK - 12. A ministry of First Baptist Church Pasadena, the academy enjoys a multi denominational body of students and faculty.

Admissions: Admission is based on results of standardized testing, previous school records, teacher recommendations, transcripts, entrance testing, and observation during the admissions interview. Students with unresolved disciplinary issues from a previous school are not admitted. Those with average or below average achievement test scores or grades of C or below may or may not be admitted, depending on the amount of improvement needed to succeed at FBCA. Foreign students are also admitted on F-1 visa status.

Faculty: All teachers are dedicated, degreed Christian professional and are ACSI certified. Many have advanced degrees and additional educator certifications.

Curriculum: FBCA students complete the graduation credits required for Texas Recommended High School Program. Advanced courses include Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP English Literature, AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP United States History, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B, AP Biology, Advanced Academic Topics and dual credit courses from San Jacinto College. Electives include choir, theatre, journalism, art and weight training.

GPA: The weighted grade point system is used. It is based on students' numeric semester averages in all courses taken. Honors/AP classes are weighted with an extra point added to the GPA. Only classes taken at FBCA will be included in GPA determination for honors; however, all high school classes are used for transcripts. FBCA does not rank students because of small class sizes.

The grading scale:

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 75 - 79
D = 70 - 74
F = 0 - 69

Christian Distinctive: Students are challenged to develop a vital, daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ through Bible classes, chapel services, Christian curriculum, community service, and godly staff memebers who are genuine Christian role models.

Extracurricular: Students participate and have advanced in regional and state competitions for academics, fine arts, and athletics through ACSI and TAPPS as well as Euro-Challenge, Texas Youth in Government Mock Trial, National History Day, and other events. On campus high school organizations include National Honor Society, Student Council, Youth for Christ, and Student Leadership Institute.

Graduates: The graduation rate is 99% for all senior classes and approximately 97% of all graduates attend a college or university upon graduation. Among the colleges attended by our graduates are Texas A&M, Baylor, University of Houston, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Houston Baptist, Georgia Tech, Sam Houston, Stephen F.
