Recommendations for treatment are explained at a consultation time set aside specifically for you. The consultation takes place at the initial appointment. Our goal is to ensure that you receive the best possible information concerning your treatment options. Our time investment in patient education enables us to render the best possible outcome for your orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Moffett’s treatment philosophy for quality orthodontics begins with the tempromandibular joint (TMJ). The TMJ is the most complex joint system in the body. It is the only joint system where two joints have to work together in harmony and both joints have two distinct motions, rotation and translation. There also are 32 teeth with fossa and incline planes that affect how and where the joints close.

Most orthodontists today diagnosis their cases by where the teeth fit. This does not take into account any functional shift of the lower jaw. Dr. Moffett firmly believes the starting point for the diagnosis should be the seated position of the joint. Quality orthodontics is about establishing functional occulsion with the joints in place.

Moffett Orthodontics is committed to making ourselves available and convenient to our patients. We have offices in Lake Charles, Kinder and Jennings.

The Kinder and Jennings offices were established in order that patients would not have to miss half a day from school to visit with Dr. Moffett in Lake Charles. These offices have been a great convenience for our patients from Allen and Jeff Davis Parishes.
