Families of the Class of 2017, This year's Alton High School Graduation ceremony will take place on Friday at 7:00 in the Gymnasium. In order for all graduates and their guests to have the best experience possible, we would like to remind you of a few basic points. Doors will open at 5:30. All seating is on a first-come, first serve basis. You must have a ticket to enter the gym. Guests who do not have a ticket, but want to view the ceremony, are welcome to watch a live stream from the Auditorium or Commons. Seating in the Auditorium will fill up quickly. Once this is full, guests will be redirected to the Commons. Noise makers, balloons, and large gifts are strictly prohibited. Doors to the Gymnasium and Auditorium will close at 6:50 due to the graduation processional. No guests will be allowed into the gymnasium after 6:50, even if they have a ticket. All guests that arrive after this time will be directed to the commons. Parking will take longer than normal, please plan accordingly. Additional parking will be available at the new athletic complex and at Heartland Baptist Church. Shuttle buses will be running from both of these locations. Parking on Humbert Road is strictly prohibited. All of this information is available on the Alton High School website. We look forward to a great evening on Friday!

The Alton Athletic Association held its 19th annual golf tournament last Friday at Spencer T Olin. The event was a huge success thanks to its sponsors, donors, players and volunteers. Thank you, senior students, Alexis Schrimpf, Annie Evans, Morris Adams, and Arie Macias for coming out to show all who participated who and why the Athletic Association exists, to benefit the student athletes of AMS and AHS.

North Elementary Teacher and Lego Robotics Coordinator Barb Erwin listens carefully as students explain their robotic invention during the District Elementary Robotics Showcase today. The students designed a robotic crane and probe prototype that can detect the temperature and pressure of active volcanoes while keeping scientists safe.

It was a fun morning in Sarah Lowe's first grade classroom at Gilson Brown Elementary! Students showcased their acting, vocal and costume-design talents in a play about animal classification. Congratulations to these students on an outstanding performance!
