A mission movement of the LCMS Northern Illinois District
A "new start" is a new pattern of behavior growing in a congregation and changing the attitude of the congregation with a Spirit-driven desire to reach into the community through building authentic relationships, care-giving and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
New starts are characterized by through mercy initiatives focused on relationship building and prayer the Bible in the community in ways that address deep hungers about spiritual things in multi-site settings or at times/places right for the people coming together used by the Holy Spirit as places that welcome new believers New starts engage the whole people of God throughout the district daily that the Holy Spirit would multiply new believers in all our churches and praising God for the life-changing stories that are the fruit of new believers the movement with our congregational tithes and personal donations the question and encouraging our own congregation: How might God use us?
Recognizing that not all content here is produced within our own organization, we share it for the joy of seeing what other Christians are doing in the world.
