AWT answers the call from many organizations to sponsor their cause. We believe it’s important to help our community and be a part of it. Today, AWT sends out a call to participate OR donate to the JDRF OneWalk. This event is to help raise money to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. This event hits close to home because Jeff Vaughan’s daughter, Danielle, has Type 1 diabetes. Danielle is a young teen, an athlete and very active in her community. One day she woke up with this disease. That’s how it works for Type 1 diabetes. There are no warning signs or even preventative care. It’s a serious autoimmune disease that affects children and adults. Money raised help support lifesaving technology that help people like Danielle live a more healthy and normal life. Technology like a glucose monitor that Danielle wears all day every day that keeps her on target with her glucose levels or an insulin pump that Danielle uses in conjunction with her monitor. Danielle’s sister, Rose, is taking an active role in raising money for this organization. She is a team captain for this event and is asking anyone to donate or participate. The walk is on Oct. 28. See the link below to make a donation and to learn more about this amazing organization.
