Ottawa Herald’s Facebook Guidelines A supplement to Facebook’s Community Standards:
1. Talk to us! We want to hear your questions, story ideas, eyewitness accounts and the “stories behind the stories.” We welcome non-promotional posts to our page, as well as private messages. 2. Keep it Clean. Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist, sexually-oriented and degrading language or images. 3. Stay Respectful and On Topic. We encourage a lively and civil discourse in which our followers share and challenge each other’s ideas on the topic at hand. Passionate views, pointed criticism and critical thinking are all welcome. Name-calling, bullying or attacking others for their opinions is not. 4. Be Truthful. Please don’t knowingly lie about anyone or anything. This includes creating false Facebook accounts. 5. Report It. Do not hesitate to report abuse posts via Facebook’s “Report” tool. Feel free to contact us, too. The Herald may ban violators of these rules without notice.
