2017 Miss Minnesota Heather Johnson returns to her old school, Jefferson Elementary School in Blaine: bit.ly/2tic0E0

Just before school ended, students at Jefferson Elementary School in Blaine had a special visit from a local celebrity. Heather Johnson, who is a Jefferson and Blaine High School graduate, and this year named 2017 Mrs. Minnesota United States, visited the school in May to visit the school and teachers that helped shape her. The focus of her visit, beyond visiting her old stomping grounds, had a serious tone. May was cancer prevention month and Heather, a skin cancer survivor herself, shared her message of skin cancer prevention and early detection with the Jefferson students — something she's been doing with school districts around the state. Congrats to Heather on her crown, and thanks for stopping by to share your message.
