The Toledo Artists’ Club (TAC), one of Toledo’s oldest fine art groups, received its charter in 1944 as a nonprofit art organization. Since 1979, TAC has been a resident of the Toledo Botanical Garden. A new gallery addition was dedicated in 1994, and an enlarged classroom area opened in 1999. These beneficial features were the result of hard work and determination by devoted members, and they were financed through fund-raisers, member donations, and grants. Our handicapped-accessible facility, open to the public, offers monthly exhibits, adult and children’s classes, and various educational programs and workshops led by nationally recognized artists. Club hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 1–4 pm between mid-December and Easter weekend, and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 1–4 pm the remainder of the year. The gallery addition project was featured in the April 1995 issue of American Artist, one of the country’s leading art magazines, and prompted a proclamation for excellence in the community from the mayor of Toledo. The club awards a scholarship to a University of Toledo or BGSU art major every year. This annual art auction is one of our main fund-raising events for and we invite you to visit our Club and continue to support local artists.
