Who’s a good boy? Ted is!!! Sheriff’s canine Ted earned some extra Scooby snacks after a recent traffic stop. Ted used his keen canine sense of smell to sniff out and alert to illegal drugs inside the car. His handler searched the car and found methamphetamine, other items consistent with drug sales, and a stun gun. Atta boy Ted 🐾

Remembering a Hero Please take a moment today to remember Solano County Sheriff's Deputy John Sandlin who was killed in the line of duty on April 23, 2004. Deputy Sandlin was well respected among his peers and dedicated to the community in which he served. A 22 year Navy veteran, Sandlin was extremely proud of his service and his climb from an enlisted 17 year-old sailor to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. At the time, Deputy Sandlin was the second most decorated member of the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, having been awarded both the Distinguished Service Medal and Purple Heart for his heroic prevention of an escape the year before. May Deputy John Sandlin always be remembered for his dedication to the community, his heroism and for the ultimate sacrifice he gave in the performance of his duties as a Solano County Deputy Sheriff. Thank you for taking time to remember Deputy Sandlin, his loved ones, and the many law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement Team and patrol deputies recovered a stolen truck in an orchard, next to a creek, just off of Rockville Road/Oliver Road, Fairfield. A friend of the truck owner spotted the truck in the area and attempted to follow it while they called the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. The friend lost sight of the truck, but deputies were soon able to locate it in the orchard unoccupied. While deputies were searching the area, they located a male subject that had fresh dirt, mud and water on him (like he had just ran through the creek). As the deputy was contacting the male, he took off running. After a a short foot chase, the deputy was able to catch the male before he was able to climb a fence. The male was later arrested on four unrelated warrants. His name is not being released at this time because this is a ongoing investigation. We are requesting that anyone that may have seen the person driving the vehicle or any other information to please contact the Investigations Bureau at 707-784-7050.
