Founded in 1891 as the Kennebec Natural History and Antiquarian Society, the society has functioned under its current name since 1895. We are located at 107 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine where we house our collection of manuscripts, photographs, diaries, ephemera, and other historic artifacts. Our current membership is around 450 people. The society sponsors at least 12 historic programs each year and other special events. Check out our website for details.
