Lawyers represent the state and the parents or guardians, and judges will rule to the best of their ability. But the children are often left out of a process that will ultimately direct the future of their lives.
Working with the court system, CASA volunteers help facilitate and monitor a child's case to ensure that his or her interests are served. They help in gathering and giving information to the judge and child welfare worker. Advocates are a powerful voice in court for children. They provide the link between a life of turmoil and a promising future.
