The Brazil Library was originally started by a group of interested citizens in 1879. In 1901 one of the board members made a trip to see Andrew Carnegie in New York. The Library was officially dedicated & opened to the public on October 18, 1904. In 2007, an expansion was built doubling the size of the original library.
