The Club is known internationally as a forum for hosting prominent CEOs, senior government officials, education and labor leaders as well as other luminaries. The Club is proud to have hosted every President since Richard Nixon and to be ranked among the top speaking platforms in the world. The DEC is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Membership is open to all who desire to be on the forefront of current business and political issues. With nearly 3,000 members, our strength is in the diversity of our membership, which spans both genders and all races, religions and points-of-view.

In June 2009, the Detroit Economic Club convened The National Summit - a three-day conference which gathered business, government, labor and academic leaders together to develop and promote actions to improve America's competitveness in a global economy.
