The Hudson Fire Department is an all volunteer department in Deep East Texas. HVFD maintains a membership of approximately 25 volunteers. HVFD operates out of two stations with the following apparatus: 1 engine, 1 mini-pumper, 2 tankers, 3 brush trucks, 1 Command/EMS vehicle, and a utility truck. The department serves approximately 10,000 citizens, and receives approximately 250 calls for service each year. Services provided include fire suppression, fire prevention education, rescue operations, and medical first responding. The HVFD also has one of the few fire department affiliated K-9 Search and Rescue teams in Texas.
