Last year, ACES Mill Road School received several grants from the Education Foundation. One of the grants funded a mindfulness garden area. This area, encompassing about 1800 sq feet, is on the school property. Seven raised beds were established, a watermelon patch, pumpkin patch, strawberry patch as well as straw bales. They also received funds to build a lavender meditation labyrinth. The area is used primarily for two purposes; to foster a love for the environment and to allow students to be mindful in a quiet outdoor environment. On #GivingTuesday, your generous donations can help fund other projects for our schools and programs.

Director of ACES International, Jason Hiruo and Assistant Executive Director Tim Howes visited Liaocheng No. 2 High School in the Shandong Province. Their visit highlighted a tour of the school, classroom observations, and ultimately culminated a commitment for AI to work with the Liaocheng administration to offer student programming and a visiting scholar initiative. The principal and his administrative team will visit ACES to tour schools in Spring 2018 and further formalize their work with AI. http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/aHb15iIFaS_VxuANtyhQ4g
