The store was founded in 1981 based on the premise that people of every sexual orientation should have a comfortable, safe environment to shop for and learn about intimacy enhancement that having a sense of humor about our sexuality is a very healthy approach.

Forbidden Fruit pioneered the "home party sale" concept back in 1982 and began offering Sex Positive Workshops in 1995. From Oral techniques to Basic Bondage, we are always offering new topics! And we continue to do the at home parties and now offer private shopping parties in the store too!
