Greenbrier County Emergency Ambulance Service proudly protects 18,000 people living in an area of 110 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. We also have a First Responder program with Lewisburg Fire Department. They are dispatched along with us certain calls in their area, ie; Chest Pain, Difficulty Breathing, Cardiac Arrests, etc. This has proved to be a very useful and valuable asset to the community.
GCEAS was established in 1974. In the beginning we were all volunteer’s at that time. Over the years the business has grown to a paid staff that work 10, 12, and 24 hour shifts. We currently average between 300-350 runs per month.
